Area for families

Our research activity is closely connected to collaboration with families.
In addition to involving families in our research projects, our goal is to offer concrete support to parents and caregivers by providing useful information and tools to better understand the challenges their children may face and to accompany them in their developmental journey.

This is achieved through:

  • the organization of meetings and workshops dedicated to various topics related to developmental disorders and special educational needs;
  • the proposal of training activities and support materials designed to help families recognize and manage everyday difficulties, thus promoting their children’s well-being and development;
  • participation in institutional science outreach events, such as Science4All, with activities specifically designed to engage children in a fun and educational way.

Science4All

Science4All is the science festival in Padua, a science communication project aimed at the public, featuring over 170 activities in the historic center. The originality of the program is to bring together researchers from the University with the audience, because science is a universal and fun language when told in the right way. Every year, we at DDLab participate by offering various workshops for children and teenagers. Some activities involve socio-emotional skills, such as recognizing emotions, others focus on cognitive skills, like attention to stimuli, and others still on motor skills, like drawing a line accurately. In the end, participants receive a small prize and a certificate of participation.
